So wie hier, wo ich mit dem random screen auf der ars electronica aufgetreten bin wissen alle, dass das von mir ist. Im Allgemeinen wäre es bestimmt sinnvoll, Werke zu registrieren.

News Entry

CC technology summit | 2008-06-18 00:00

RC has been invited to CC's first technology summit at Google Mountain View campus.

Creative Commons is holding its first "technology summit" June 18 2008 on
the Google Mountain View campus.  Apart from taking advantage of
Google's generous offer to host, we're using the opportunity to

1) explain and get feedback on our metadata direction, which has
developed considerably in the last year
2) start an open conversation about "registry" technology and how CC
might play a role, coming from a few different angles
   a) lots of new "registry" startups are cropping up
   b) big companies and cultural institutions are in effect building
registries to meet their internal needs
   c) "digital asset management" tools are showing up in the consumer space
   d) lots of people (still) think that better metadata is going to
fix the music industry and siblings, or something like that
   e) CC is constantly asked for advice/input/encouragement or
encouraged to participate in the space

We are very pleased to be invited by Mike and Nathan at CC. Joe Benso (the composer of the "Tuxedo Blues", presented at the RC launch event in Berlin) will be attending the summit on behalf of osAlliance.
